These guys went out of their way to make sure my rug was cleaned right. I had a Chinese silk rug from my grandmother and it got a red wine stain from New Years Eve. I thought it was ruined! However, not only did these guys get rid of the stain, they were able to tell me how old it is and roughly where it was made. I'm so happy they were able to save my family heirloom!

They made my day! 2011 Christmas eve dinner led to a large spill of dark red wine on a one month old, hand made, Indian wool rug. I thought the rug was ruined. The rug is light in color with no pattern in the center. I called a few rug cleaning places on Monday finding all closed (a holiday) except for Eastbay Oriental. By chance I found a great company that did a great job. Eric, the owner, was at his shop checking on rugs in the drying process and answered the phone. He came right over, assessed the damage and took the rug to his shop. He said he should be able to get it out. When the rug was returned I was amazed at the results. I could not find the area where the spill was. The personal and professional service of this local, family owned business, is just what I want when I hire people to work in my home. Excellence defined and delivered. Eric and company are technically expert and the service is outstanding. East Bay has 'saved' 2 rugs now and cleaned several others perfectly. Eric starts with a thorough interview to understand exactly what may have happened to the rug, even if it's a simple cleaning. Then he observes where the rug is located for conditions of light, traffic, and living. He's very careful to point out any risks - no carpet cleaning can be absolutely guaranteed, and it's unreasonable to expect no change at all. Think of how wool and cotton clothing changes with washing. Wear and change can be minimized but not eliminated. If there's any fading, I can't see it. Still, Eric was careful to point out a subtle change in the nap. And, if needed, rugs can be restored; Eric is an expert on restorations and protective treatments, too. The cleaning is excellent: thorough, perfectly dry, with minimal impact, and no residual odor of any kind. The service has been outstanding: prompt startup, quick turnaround.

We had two Moroccan rugs cleaned, after over 20 years of not cleaning.  Pick up and drop off went well.  The rugs look amazing--so much better than before cleaning.  The colors are more vibrant.  We are very happy with the results.
